YouTube Asshole of the Day: Cap'n Awesome

So, it’s a Monday. Kind of boring, since I have nothing to do and the boyfriend is face down in the pillow, Sims 2 crashed and no one is on Messenger so I go to my boredom cure: flipping through YouTube. Check updates and maybe get a good giggle that whole bit. Well, I’m watch a video by a user named TipToeChick and a see a video in the related column with this title “Say no to Wicca” by a Cap’n Awesome. Video posted below, watch it before you continue reading it’s four and a half minutes long.



For any person with two brain cells to rub together, will know that at least one thing he said was true. The thing about the Druids, because being Pagan, it annoys me when people say there a Druid or a Druidic Pagan. It drives me up the wall and makes me want to shake their head off there damn neck. That is about the only thing he’s right on, the rest of is a very and a mean very broad assumption about the Neo-Pagan community and the Goth subculture. I’ll really only going into the Pagan part, because while I tried and wanted to be Goth in High school and a small part of me still does, I don’t know a whole Hell of a lot about it.

Not all Pagans are Goths, a chunk of what I read in my books on Wicca told you to tend to avoid those kinds of people because at the time they were still viewed to be a danger to yourself and others. This is not the case anymore because of people becoming more informed. Not everyone who’s Goth is Pagan, I’ve met some pretty awesome Goth Christians and some cool Goth Satanists. (This is really the guess I thought more people would make.)

Not all Pagans are Vegans or Vegetarians, this one I have to explain more times then I would like too. Mostly because people see the Pentacle when I’m in Carls JR enjoying a burger and ask “Oh, I thought Wiccans were Vegetarians. Are you a Satanist?” The assumption that all Pagans are tree huggers is annoying, don’t get me wrong I’m all for saving the Whales, Tigers, Wolves and all that, but I think recycling is a waste of money and that cow, chicken and pig is tasty. I’m a none Hippy, none Dirt Hugging Pagan, I know quite a few others as well.

A good bit of the stupid shit that gets said about the Neo-Pagan community I think is the fault of popular culture. Things like “The Craft”, “Charmed”, and stuff like that. Other then a handful of other press we don’t get a lot of coverage and think because of that we get lumped into that weirdo category. If more people knew what it was all about then I think less people would get these kinds of stupid thoughts. Sadly, Hollywood has turned us into a joke to the American audience.

Back onto the subject of Cap’n Awesome, whom I’m ashamed to share a title with. Though I don’t know who gave him that title. I really think this guy is out to get attention, mommy didn’t give him enough and he’s ugly enough that I don’t think any woman would touch him with 80 foot pole. Instead of everyone responding to his videos, ignoring him, don’t comment him or rate him or do anything. Just leave all be.

So I've changed things up a bit

Yeah, for like the . . . three maybe four people who read it the first time. It's back, though I'm changing the formula a bit. It’s no longer daily. I got so sick of trying to force something out of my head once a day like that. So I stopped and I deleted it. Now you get a rant, I’m aiming for once or twice a week. Don’t know subjects yet and I’m not going to map them out like I did last time. It reminded me of being in High school, a lot.

The new formula is at least, once a week but whenever I feel inclined, sometimes more.

Random subjects, just whatever happens to piss me off that day of the week or hops to mind.

As a new added bonus, every Five Rants, you get a good thing. Something I like or is appreciated, just something like that. Anywhere from a YouTube Channel I like, a new song, a pic or just whatever I happen to find.
